Featured Artist: With a gender bending front man, Semi Precious Weapons, NYC’s glam band set to take over the world
Semi Precious Weapons – SPW to those that know – may be the second coming of Bowie-esque glam on the pop-rock-punk-wtf is that music-scene… From the music halls and dim dark bars of New York City – these guys fronted by the gender bending, self proclaimed “fucking gorgeous” singer (and jewlery designer – Fetty) Justin Tranter – have been storming across arena’s recently opening for the a bit freakish herself – Miss – Lady Gaga. Tranter, friendly with likes of Gaga and gossip blogger Perez Hilton – has reaped the benefits of that very networking in this business called the music industry. Not that long ago, it’s rumoured that – Lady Gaga was opening for SPW in those dark clubs – but just because she hit it big before them, doesn’t mean she isn’t bringing them along for the ride – and hopefully their own chance at hitting the big time.
The Weapons, are – in a word – fearless. On stage, touring…word is all but one band member gave up their NYC apartments as they headed out on tour last fall…first as the entree opener for the Perez Hilton sponsored tour, following that up with a series of opening dates for The Sounds…and then, the BIG GET…the opening spot on Gaga’s tour…and it just keeps getting better. At each leg of the Lady’s Monster Ball tour, SPW got added to bill…not too shabby. The now cross over fans of both are termed – “Monster Weapons”.
Upcoming, during a brief break in the Ball’s tour legs – SPW has a brief round of headlining gigs at a couple of the hottest music clubs around the US: 
4/21 – Los Angeles – The Roxy
4/23 – Chicago – Subterranean
4/26 – NYC – Bowery Ballroom
4/27 – Boston – Paradise Rock Club
The good news doesn’t stop there – a new CD recently recorded in LA, is set to drop imminently. This music fan thinks everyone’s going to be dancing to the beat with echoes of Justin requesting them to “show me your tities”, and “let’s turn the lights off and get fucking laid”…
America better watch out – because it, it’s fucking gorgeous…
For further titilation as it were – some of the images from last years stops in Seattle. SPW is due to hit the Northwest again, opening Lady Gaga’s date at the Tacoma Dome – August 21st.
